Peg was born in 1965 in Oakland, California, and raised in Colorado. She has had no formal training in art, and has been showing and selling her work since 1991. She lived in New York for seven years, to paint, dj and experience the energy of the city.

Peg moved back to Colorado and opened Blutoste Java, (Webster says 'BlueToast').

BluToste is a coffee shop where Peg shows her work as well as other artists outside the mainstream, spins records here and there, hosts a progressive café, vinyl night, poetry slams and open mike nights.

From Blu herself:

I feel my paintings and drawings take on a life of their own. They are visual outcomes of what stimulates me visually. Color, shape and imagination are the key to my creativity.

I have always been interested in objects and structures. It seems I am more fascinated in what man has made than man himself. As for people I am more challenged making up my own characters than a more realistic view. I enjoy creating new places, people and situations. I am a dreamer and I am a realist. I believe my visions are brought on by what my mind and eyes see....

My influences in art have been Kandininski for his love of color and Dr. Seuss for his never ending prolific imagination.

My mediums of choice are acrylic, watercolor, and gouache.

Being Brule Sioux and Pacific Islander has given me quite a colorful palette in life. My goal with my art is simply to stay true to it.
