DIRECTOR BIO

SUSAN LYLES (DIRECTOR)

Susan Lyles has a BA from Wichita State University, and received certification from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Shakespeare.  She has worked on stage in London, Chicago and Denver and has also worked in film, commercials, print, industrial's, and voice over. Susan is the founder and Artistic Producing  Director of And Toto too Theatre Company, and has directed more than 20 plays, including the award winning Naked in Encino, Car Talk, and Heads. She has designed costumes for more than 50 plays, including Lion in Winter (Denver Victorian Playhouse), 12th Night (Denver Victorian Playhouse), and Greater Tuna and Christmas Tuna (Denver Victorian Playhouse, Town Hall Arts Center).  Susan is branching out into film with her newly formed film production company Ruff, Ruff Dog Productions.

James o'hagan-murphy (john)

This is James' first production with And Toto too.  He has worked with many Colorado theatre companies including Vintage Theatre, Avenue Theatre, Boulder Ensemble Theatre, Miners Alley Playhouse, Edge Theatre, Littleton Town Hall Arts Center, Breckenridge Backstage Theatre, Cherry Creek Theatre, and the Denver Center Theatre Company.  Some of his more memorable roles include Felix Unger (The Odd Couple, Miners Alley Playhouse), Williamson (Glengarry Glen Ross, Edge Theatre), Richard Hannay (The 39 Steps, Littleton Town Hall Arts Center), Nick (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe, Edge Theatre), Mark Lee Fuller (Southern Baptist Sissies, Theatre Out), Estragon (Waiting for Godot, Ripple Effect), Raskolnikov (Crime & Punishment, Boulder Ensemble), George Bailey (It's a Wonderful Life, Miners Alley Playhouse), Joe Pitt (Angels In America I & II, Vintage Theatre), and Robert F. Kennedy (RFK: A Portrait of Robert Kennedy, Vintage Theatre, Westword Magazine's Best Actor in a Drama).  Next he will be playing Jacob Marley in Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol with Vintage Theatre, in the same space you're watching him this evening.

 

KATE POLING (JULIE)

Kate Poling is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Acting with a second degree in Politics. Since moving back to her native Colorado, she's kept busy both acting and teaching at such places as BETC, Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, and Miners Alley. Favorite roles include Viola in Twelfth Night (Foothills Theatre Company), Guildenstern in R and G are Dead (NYU), and Nurse in Romeo and Juliet (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts). Kate is thrilled for the opportunity to work with And Toto too Theatre Company on such a provocative piece as Smoke!
